Job summary

Sonoco is hiring a Team Lead I in Denver, PA to lead and work hands-on with the production team. The role requires a safety‑first mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities include leading a production team, implementing process improvements, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The position reports to the Site Lead and requires excellent attendance.

Qualifications

• 5 years prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must have Forklift experience.
• Shipping & Receiving experience preferred.
• Must have core manufacturing experience.
• Previous leadership experience in manufacturing/warehouse/shipping leading a crew/ team required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to read and understand manufacturing instructions and specification sheets.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude
• Possess an understanding of continuous improvement methodology and experience with continuous improvement tools
• Demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities and lead improvements
• Must have knowledge of computer‑based programs – Word, Excel, Power Point
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of employees on multiple manufacturing lines.
• Collaborate closely with other departments and teams.
• Make incremental process adjustments, monitor and report product quality.
• Provide required administrative tasks and deliverables.
• Drive and inspire the team to improve performance to meet/exceed goals.
• Apply critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area; 5S knowledge is a plus.
• Perform duties as directed by plant manager and support Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.
• Assist other departments as needed.
