Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, analyze KPI data, and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve reliability.

You will train operators on new processes, develop standard work, coordinate improvement projects, and collaborate with Production, Maintenance, R&D, Quality, and EH&S to deliver measurable cost savings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (Ceramic, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical).
  • Minimum one year of experience in manufacturing or related industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Solid Works.
  • Proficiency in Mini-Tab or other statistical software.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Learn plant metrics, processes, and key operational levers.
  • Establish working relationships with production management, equipment operators, and maintenance teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and key technical resource.
  • Gather and statistically interpret process-parameter data against KPI metrics.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and establish corrective actions.
  • Identify critical equipment and opportunities to improve reliability and performance.
  • Establish standard work for processes, including tooling and documentation.
  • Support training and adherence to standard work.
  • Execute improvement projects and measure their impact.
  • Prepare project estimates and coordinate work to meet completion dates, technical specifications, and budgets.
  • Train production operators on new processes, tooling, and machinery.
  • Track project and process-improvement progress, records, and cost savings; report to business partners.
  • Liaise with Marketing, Production, Maintenance, R&D, Quality, and EH&S.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Analyze production and business-process data to identify opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize processes, optimize workflows, and support continuous-improvement culture through training, coaching, and performance monitoring.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen, permanent resident alien of the United States, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324(a)(3)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
  • Ability to analyze data and plan improvement activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes
  • Quality certification a plus
  • Ability to work an 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday, with overtime and weekend work as needed
  • Ability to meet stated physical demands, including occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
  • Required to wear steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs in the manufacturing area
