Job summary

Leidos’ Defense Sector Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our defense sector manufacturing support team located in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on standardizing Solumina MES and developing analytics to create KPIs and dashboards for monitoring our success.

The successful candidate will train 60+ ME’s, help develop SOPs, and set MES standards across 5+ facilities. Collaboration with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Inventory Control is essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in an engineering field with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or MS with 2–6 years.
• Experience with serialized components and non‑conformance dispositioning.
• Hands‑on Costpoint, ECNs, effectivity dates and substitutions, PLM/ERP/MES interactions.
• Ability to communicate with Production and Analytics teams and draft KPI reports.
• 4+ years in Manufacturing/Assembly/Integration with multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing orders to meet project schedules.
• Use MES (Solumina) to implement, track, and control processes.
• Generate and maintain manufacturing BOMs and routings.
• Plan production flow and manage changes in the MRP system.
• Define processes, procedures and production flow for assembly, integration & test.
• Coordinate production workflow across projects and resources.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement projects.
