Job summary

FuelCell Energy is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Analyst to support MES, ERP integrations, and shop floor IT on a 2nd/3rd shift. You will troubleshoot, document, and escalate issues to ensure uninterrupted production and data integrity.

The role focuses on MES, D365 integrations, and manufacturing devices, with onsite responsibilities and strict adherence to IT governance and SOX controls. A strong IT background in manufacturing is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years IT support experience in manufacturing or production-critical settings.
  • Experience with MES, ERP integrations, or shop floor systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting across apps, infrastructure, and devices.
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, Azure Entra ID, and Active Directory.
  • Ability to triage production issues under time pressure with clear communication.
  • Experience documenting incidents and resolutions in an ITSM system.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, runbooks, and change controls.
  • Onsite work capability for 2nd or 3rd shift in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite 2nd/3rd shift IT support for manufacturing operations.
  • Be the primary on-shift contact for MES, D365 integrations, shop floor devices, and related systems.
  • Triaging, troubleshooting, resolving, and escalating issues based on production impact.
  • Support endpoint and shop floor technology including PCs, HMIs, scanners, and printers.
  • Perform identity and access management across Azure Entra ID and AD.
  • Follow IT governance, cybersecurity, and SOX ITGC procedures with proper documentation.
  • Document incidents, root cause, resolution steps, and escalation actions in the ITSM system.
  • Develop and improve runbooks, procedures, and monitoring checks.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, IT, and vendors to resolve complex issues.

Who We're Looking For

The Manufacturing Systems Analyst is a production-critical, onsite IT role responsible for supporting the systems, applications, devices, and infrastructure that enable manufacturing operations. This position serves as the primary on-shift support contact for manufacturing systems issues impacting production, with a focus on rapid response, clear escalation, reliable documentation, and operational continuity.

The role supports MES, D365 integrations, supply chain, quality, warehouse, endpoint, and shop floor technology needs while providing general IT support during the assigned shift when manufacturing priorities allow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite 2nd/3rd shift IT support focused on maintaining uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Serve as the primary on-shift support contact for MES, D365 integrations, shop floor devices, warehouse systems, quality systems, and related manufacturing applications.
  • Triage, troubleshoot, resolve, and elevate application, infrastructure, integration, and device issues based on production impact and defined support procedures.
  • Support endpoint and shop floor technology, including PCs, HMIs, scanners, label printers, industrial workstations, and network-connected manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform identity and access management activities across Azure Entra ID, Active Directory, and manufacturing systems in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Follow IT governance, cybersecurity, and SOX ITGC procedures, including timely documentation and audit evidence support where required.
  • Document incidents, root cause, resolution steps, and escalation actions in the IT service management system with clear, reusable detail.
  • Execute and improve runbooks, support procedures, monitoring checks, and routine maintenance activities to strengthen system reliability.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, IT teams, and external vendors to resolve complex issues and support approved system changes.
  • Provide general IT helpdesk support during the assigned shift while maintaining priority focus on manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Three or more years of IT support experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or other production-critical environment.
  • Experience supporting MES, ERP integrations, manufacturing applications, or comparable shop floor systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, infrastructure, endpoints, integrations, and shop floor devices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows OS, Azure Entra ID, and Active Directory.
  • Ability to triage and resolve high-impact production issues under time pressure while communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience documenting incidents, resolution steps, escalation actions, and knowledge articles in an IT service management system or similar tool.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures, runbooks, change controls, and escalation protocols.
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment on the designated 2nd or 3rd shift schedule.
  • Ability to respond to critical production incidents outside normal shift hours when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or similar ERP platforms.
  • Experience with IT/OT environments, network connectivity troubleshooting, segmentation concepts, and manufacturing infrastructure support.
  • Experience supporting shop floor hardware such as HMIs, scanners, label printers, industrial PCs, and production workstations.
  • Familiarity with IT service management practices, including incident, problem, change, and knowledge management.
  • Experience supporting SOX, cybersecurity, audit evidence collection, or regulated IT environments.
