Job summary

Responsibilities

• Update the machine line up daily and schedule items 10 days out.
• Ensure tooling, fixturing, materials and instructions are available for all jobs on the line up.
• Attend MAXM manufacturing and work order meetings and ensure work is completed and signed off.
• Review NC revision logs and ensure work is completed and signed off.
• Monitor overtime and absenteeism; enforce policy and drive asset utilization.

TITLE: Manufacturing Supervisor – Multi-Axis

LOCATION: Plant One and Plant Two - Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Manufacturing

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for managing all aspects of people, parts and processes within the Multi-Axis departments across all shifts. Responsible to ensure customer project needs are met while achieving Prospect Mold project metrics and business objectives.

DUTIES:

• Update the machine line up each day to ensure that each machine is scheduled for 10 days.
• Ensure that all programming/tools/fixturing/raw material required for all items on the machine line up, are available when required.
• Ensure that strategizing ‘how to process a job’ is completed for each job and the resulting instructions are included on the machine line up.
• Ensure all applicable employees understand the machine line‑up and the operations sequence determined for each item(s) scheduled on each machine.
• Evaluate and requestion tooling necessary to complete specific projects.
• Update the machine list daily with an accurate status (percentage of completion) for relevant item(s).
• Attend, and contribute to, MPM meetings as the MAXM manufacturing representative.
• Attend, and contribute to, work order meetings and ensure the assigned work is completed and signed off.
• Review the NC revision log, as appropriate, and ensure assigned work is completed and signed off.
• Ensure the required processes are complete for sub contracting.
• Monitor and manage MAXM asset utilization. Support and drive the improvement of MAXM asset utilization.
• Monitor and track employee absenteeism. Report employee absentee patterns and exceptions to policy.
• Ensure overtime is administered each week for appropriate departments and machines.
• Ensure proper expectations are set for MAXM employees. Complete the employee evaluation process for appropriate employees.

CLIMATE:

Work is done in conjunction with all functional departments. The person in this role must be conscientious about accuracy and communication of details. Work is often subject to time, and deadline pressures. Significant time is spent accomplishing work in team meetings.

CHARACTERISTICS:

• BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent experience is required. (Required: 5 years of experience with metal cutting, tooling used for metal cutting and use of CAD/CAM software. Desired: mold and die metal cutting, exposure to metrology, benching, fitting, assembly, and subcontracting.)
• 5 years of experience in a supervision role in a machining environment is required.
