Qualifications

• External candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role with strong safety and CI experience.
• Ability to foster and lead a can-do culture while ensuring safety and quality within the department and mill.
• Quick thinker with the ability to adapt to new situations and absorb new information.
• Demonstrated record of successful safety performance.
• Strong leadership skills, including contributing to and enhancing teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe work area for employees and ensure training and support; monitor cleanliness.
• Manage a team accountable for production, safety, and housekeeping within the department.
• Ensure quality goals are achieved and communicate with upstream/downstream departments.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating processes and driving improvements.
• Drive proactive safety behavior and accountability through coaching and feedback.
