Job summary

The Gill Corporation-Maryland is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations in a high-volume production environment. You will drive safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing that meets quality and delivery requirements while supporting broader business objectives.

Responsibilities include leading production activities, promoting safety, collaborating across functions, and driving improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred, with an engineering background highly desired.
  • Four (4) years of experience in manufacturing, production, or a related industrial environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, planning, or scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools; experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access.
  • Acceptable vision test results (as applicable).
  • Must have English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, write, understand and communicate the company's operating procedures and policies.

  • Support deployment of manufacturing strategies, standard work, control systems, and performance metrics.
  • Onboard, train, and develop hourly employees to build a capable, engaged workforce.
  • Oversee timekeeping, attendance, and labor reporting per policies.
  • Manage area layout, material flow, and work cell organization for efficiency.
  • Ensure consistent enforcement of company policies and safety standards.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties to support manufacturing operations

We specialize in a wide variety of structural honeycomb core materials. By utilizing broad engineering expertise along with sophisticated 5-axis CNC machining and special processing, we have the ability to deliver solutions that are responsive to customer needs.

Compensation for this role: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00, commensurate with experience

Shift: 1st Shift - Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Summary

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating day-to-day manufacturing operations within a high-volume, fast-paced production environment. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of products that meet customer, quality, and delivery requirements while supporting broader operational and business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, plan, and direct production activities to ensure adherence to quality, cost, delivery, and safety targets.
  • Foster a strong safety culture by promoting compliance with all safety policies and actively participating in continuous safety improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Planning—to support organizational goals and operational excellence.
  • Drive performance against key metrics, including cost, quality, delivery, and safety, while identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
  • Support the deployment of manufacturing strategies, standard work, control systems, and performance metrics to monitor operations, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions related to productivity, capacity, quality, and labor utilization.
  • Onboard, train, and develop hourly employees to build a capable, engaged, and flexible workforce.
  • Oversee timekeeping, attendance, and labor reporting in compliance with company policies.
  • Manage area layout, material flow, and work cell organization to optimize efficiency and throughput.
  • Ensure consistent enforcement of company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations; promptly report and address unsafe conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of manufacturing operations

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
