KVK Tech, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for compression and encapsulation to lead daily tablet production and capsule-filling operations. You will supervise manufacturing personnel, align with batch records and SOPs, and ensure safety and quality on the shop floor.

In this role you’ll drive process improvements, coach staff to develop skills, and partner with QA, maintenance, and other departments to meet production schedules while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Formación

  • Requires 3-5 years supervisory experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience in oral solid dosage manufacturing (tablet compression and encapsulation).
  • Experience supervising equipment setup, cleaning, changeovers, and troubleshooting.

The Manufacturing Supervisor, Compression & Encapsulation is responsible for overseeing daily tablet compression and capsule-filling operations within oral solid dosage pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role supervises manufacturing personnel, coordinates production activities, and ensures adherence to cGMPs, SOPs, approved batch records, safety requirements, and Good Documentation Practices. The Manufacturing Supervisor provides floor leadership and technical guidance to maintain product quality, meet production schedules, develop employee capabilities, and support safe, efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily tablet compression and encapsulation activities, ensuring operations are performed in accordance with approved batch records, SOPs, and production schedules.
  • Assign daily work, coordinate staffing, materials, tooling, and equipment availability, and adjust priorities to address production needs while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Oversee equipment setup, tooling installation and inspection, operation, cleaning, and changeovers for tablet presses and capsule-filling equipment; ensure required line clearances and readiness checks are completed before production begins.
  • Ensure material identity, release status, and traceability are verified before use and maintained throughout processing, including the proper handling of blends, capsule shells, in-process materials, and rejected product.
  • Monitor process performance and required in-process checks, including tablet weight, hardness, thickness, friability, and appearance, as applicable, and capsule fill weight, integrity, and closure.
  • Guide troubleshooting of compression and encapsulation issues, ensuring equipment adjustments remain within approved parameters and quality concerns are promptly escalated.
  • Review batch records, equipment logbooks, production yields, and material reconciliations for accuracy and completeness, ensuring discrepancies are addressed through approved procedures.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate manufacturing personnel, reinforce performance and safety expectations, and ensure employees are trained and qualified to perform assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and other departments to address equipment and process issues and support deviation investigations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and change controls.
  • Monitor downtime, output, and recurring manufacturing issues to identify improvement opportunities, maintain effective shift handoffs, and enforce housekeeping, gowning, and contamination prevention requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, overseeing production personnel and daily manufacturing operations.
  • Direct experience in oral solid dosage manufacturing, including both tablet compression and encapsulation, required.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing tablet press and capsule-filling equipment setup, operation, cleaning, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience coordinating production schedules, managing staffing priorities, training manufacturing personnel, and reviewing batch manufacturing records within a cGMP-regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong working knowledge of cGMPs, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), data integrity principles, SOPs, and batch manufacturing records.
  • Technical understanding of tablet compression and encapsulation processes, including tooling, equipment settings, material flow, and in-process quality checks.
  • Ability to recognize tablet and capsule defects, evaluate potential process or equipment causes, and coordinate appropriate troubleshooting and escalation.
  • Working knowledge of equipment cleaning, line clearance, material reconciliation, and contamination prevention procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coach employees, reinforce accountability, and manage multiple production priorities.
