Responsibilities

The role involves managing production operations from incoming materials to finished products, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and schedules. The supervisor oversees, trains, and guides team members during shifts, enforces processing guidelines, maintains records, and manages staffing and equipment needs.

Essential Functions:
  1. Maintain a safe workplace through observations and enforcement of safety rules.
  2. Handle issues with incoming materials via the MRB process or quality assurance.
  3. Coordinate staffing to meet production schedules.
  4. Communicate with production control and customer service regarding needs and changes.
  5. Share resources with other production teams for overall efficiency.
  6. Ensure compliance with quality systems through routine checks.
  7. Promote 5S and lean methodologies for an efficient, clean, and organized operation.
  8. Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  9. Implement cross-training for workforce flexibility.
  10. Conduct coaching and discipline as needed.
  11. Collaborate with support functions for assistance or support.
  12. Manage labor and supplies within budget guidelines.
  13. Perform routine administrative duties related to staffing and records.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Education: Associate degree or equivalent manufacturing training, or two years of manufacturing experience. Strong math, communication, mechanical aptitude, decision-making skills, and proficiency with standard systems are required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to present ideas and reports clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Good interpersonal skills for working with subordinates, peers, superiors, and external contacts.
  • Effective time management, planning, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to walk and stand for most of an 8-hour shift, climb stairs, and lift up to 35 pounds.
