Job summary

Clarios, Toledo - Fully Integrated Plant, seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure production targets are met, staffing remains appropriate, and a safe/clean environment is maintained. You will plan, direct, coordinate and control manufacturing activities in the assigned area to achieve management goals.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, 1+ year in people management, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Lean/Six Sigma experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 1+ year managing employees in manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision making ability.
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift and required overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Trains production personnel to perform work assignments safely and efficiently.
  • Maintains good employee relations through coaching and consistent application of employee relation policies.
  • Requisitions operating personnel to meet established goals.
  • May maintain accurate database information regarding employee training and certification.
  • Administers production salary/wage policy for operating personnel properly.
  • Administers and enforces health, environmental and safety standards, work practices and housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Arranges for proper maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Reports daily KPI indicators, including production, scrap, safety, and quality.
  • Investigates material variances, reports results of investigation and recommends improvements.
  • Solicits and encourages process, procedure and equipment improvements from team members.
  • May audit Standard Work Practices for each area and regularly reviews them for effectiveness through team meetings and practice.
  • Assign work to meet daily manufacturing requirements and control labor and material usage to meet or improve standard costs.
  • Familiarize personnel with Company rules and regulations.
  • Recommend improvements on machines, equipment, job methods and procedures.
  • Overtime is required to meet internal and external customer requirements.

What you will do:

What we look for:
Required
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Minimum 1+ year managing employees in manufacturing setting required.

Preferred
  • Experience applying Lean manufacturing, 5S, utilizing Six Sigma is desirable
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Previous Lead Acid battery experience is helpful but not required.
