Incertec is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor – Heat Treating to join our heat-treating operation. This is a hands-on, labor-focused leadership position responsible for both supervising production employees and actively supporting day-to-day heat-treating operations.
Our facility operates with a small team of approximately 15 employees, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced heat-treating professional who enjoys working directly alongside employees, solving production challenges, and leading by example.
The Production Supervisor will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for helping manage daily production activities, maintaining production schedules, supporting equipment operation and maintenance, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer and quality requirements.
This is not an office-only management position. The successful candidate must have strong, direct heat-treating experience and be comfortable working hands-on in the operation while supervising and developing a small but mighty team of employees.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead, and provide day-to-day direction to production employees.
- Work directly alongside production employees and provide hands-on support throughout heat-treating operations.
- Operate vacuum furnaces and other heat-treating equipment.
- Perform and oversee heat-treating processes including solution treatment, oil quenching of steel alloys, case hardening, annealing, tempering, and stress relieving.
- Manage and adhere to production schedules to ensure customer and operational requirements are met.
- Understand and properly use test and inspection equipment utilized in heat-treating operations.
- Support basic preventive maintenance activities and help ensure production equipment remains in proper operating condition.
- Troubleshoot production, equipment, and process issues as they arise.
- Monitor workflow and adjust labor and production priorities based on operational needs.
- Train, coach, and develop production employees on processes, equipment, safety, quality, and performance expectations.
- Ensure employees follow established work instructions, procedures, and production requirements.
- Accurately complete and review batch records, production logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ensure production activities comply with applicable ISO, AS9100, and NADCAP requirements.
- Communicate production issues, downtime, scheduling concerns, and equipment needs to the Plant Manager.
- Create, maintain, and submit reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, quality, and a strong work ethic throughout the operation.
- Perform other production and supervisory duties as needed to support the facility.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade training preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of direct heat-treating experience required.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience operating heat-treating equipment and processes.
- Experience with vacuum furnaces, solution treatment, oil quenching of steel alloys, case hardening, annealing, tempering, and stress relieving required.
- Experience supervising or leading employees in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Working knowledge of heat-treating test and inspection equipment.
- Basic understanding of preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience working within ISO, AS9100, and/or NADCAP quality systems strongly preferred.
- Ability to use computers for frequent email communication, production documentation and Excel data entry and reporting.

Salary starting at $75,000/year, based on experience and qualifications.
