Job summary

OPW, part of Dover Corp, seeks a Production Supervisor to lead the daily production floor with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. You will monitor output, plan resources, and ensure accurate inventory movement while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing with supervisory experience, and proficiency in lean tools and problem-solving methods (5-Why, 8D, A3). Familiarity with AS400 or Shop Floor Plus is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's preferred.
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years in supervisory role.
  • Experience using lean tools and methodologies.
  • Proficient in problem solving: 5-Why, 8D, A3.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Familiar with production systems like AS400 or Shop Floor Plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct production floor activities to maximize productivity while upholding safety and quality.
  • Inspect products to verify standards and specifications.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce material and labor costs.
  • Conduct daily safety GEMBA and ensure ISO 9001/IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Provide leadership to 30+ production team members; train, evaluate, and engage staff.
  • Manage weekly production schedule and monitor KPIs to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure timely reporting of accidents and take corrective action.

Job description

As a global leader in fluid-handling solutions since 1892, the mission of OPW is to be a developer of a comprehensive array of innovative fluid-handling solutions that our customers can consistently and reliably count on. These include loading and unloading systems for high-value hazardous and non-hazardous bulk products; railcar and transport tank-truck valves, gauging devices and tank-monitoring systems; automated storage-terminal controls and systems; and regulators, fittings, valves, vaporizers, vacuum-jacketed piping and gas-handling systems for the safe handling and distribution of cryogenics and industrial gases.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily operations of the production floor; ensuring established safety, quality and production requirements are met. This role will monitor daily productivity and work quality output, define resource needs and staffing parameters to meet business goals and ensures the accuracy and integrity of inventory movement.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate and direct the activities of the production floor to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Inspect product to verify product standards and specifications are met
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce material and labor costs
  • Performs daily safety GEMBA
  • Accountable for all aspects of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 compliance
Leadership
  • Provide leadership to 30+ production team, including training, auditing, evaluations, performance discussions, disciplinary actions, career development, employee engagement and morale.
  • Execute weekly production schedule continuously improving productivity and efficiency by managing KPIs
  • Ensure job-related accidents or injuries are reported and documented timely and take corrective action in an expedient manner
What You'll Bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree in related field preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years' supervisory experience
  • Experience with lean continuous improvement tools and methodology
  • Proficient at Problem Solving Techniques (5-why, 8D, A3)
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure; multi-task; meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with AS400, Shop Floor Plus or other production systems
