Job summary

Staff Accountant position in Portage, MI with The Pivot Group Network. Reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare and post journal entries, and assist with month-end close for manufacturing clients. You will also support AP/AR and analyze costs to provide management insights.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in staff accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills with ERP experience. Knowledge of inventory and cost accounting is a plus, CMA/CPA in progress is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems.
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, as needed.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and variances, providing insights to management.
• Prepare various financial reports and schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.
• Participate in inventory counts and reconcile inventory balances.
