Job summary

Crane Company is seeking a Test Engineer to develop and implement testing methods for harsh environment sensors used in nuclear reactors, radiation monitoring, oil & gas exploration, and natural gas turbines in Twinsburg, Ohio.

You will contribute to full-stack applications that support the manufacturing process, design calibration and test systems, automate tests, and participate in NPI programs and HSE initiatives to improve quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or CS field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with testing electrical systems and software is expected.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and deliver on schedule.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role Summary

As a Test Engineer, you will develop and implement new and improved methods for testing of harsh environment sensors used in nuclear reactors, radiation monitoring, oil & gas exploration, and natural gas turbines. Projects will include programming automation of lab equipment (ovens, power supplies, data acquisition), developing front-end user interfaces, and designing back-end databases for data storage. Your responsibilities will span from supporting daily production needs to larger projects that make a positive impact on quality, customer satisfaction, and on the Reuter-Stokes team in Twinsburg, Ohio.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Full-stack development and sustaining of applications that support the manufacturing process.
• Designing, qualifying, implementing, and maintaining calibration or test systems, working with a cross-functional engineering team to develop and meet technical requirements.
• Driving improvements to testing capability and documentation, and subsequent training of others
• Leading improvements in test setups, test automation, and trend monitoring
• Owning new equipment / upgrades from purchase through installation
• Contributing to NPI (New Product Introduction) programs throughout concept, prototype, pilot, validation, and manufacturing implementation stage gates
• Supporting Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) projects

Required Qualifications

• Have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited university, or equivalent experience
• Have 2 years minimum experience

Preferred Qualifications

• C#, Python, VBA, VB.net, SQL, MS Access, LabVIEW experience
• Experience with developing, debugging, troubleshooting, and testing electrical systems and software
• Proven experience in problem solving and failure analysis
• Strong service orientation to the production floor and customers alike
• Demonstrable successes in a high quality and regulatory environment
• Ability to coordinate several projects concurrently
• Familiarity with nuclear instrumentation and measurements a plus
• Familiarity with electronics for use in extreme temperature, shock and vibration environments desirable
