Job summary

SpaceX, maker of Starlink, is hiring a Manufacturing Specialist on the 2nd shift to support new manufacturing and testing processes for the high-volume user terminal. You will work with engineering to establish processes, train teammates, and drive improvements in yield, cost, and throughput.

The role requires either a high school diploma with 2+ years in manufacturing or a bachelor’s in engineering/science. ITAR eligibility and ability to lift up to 25 lbs are also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency and 2+ years in hands-on manufacturing, or bachelor's in engineering, math or science.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or science.
• Experience in a highly adaptive and iterative environment.
• Experience in high-volume commercial manufacturing.
• Experience supporting new product introduction and transition to volume production.
• Experience validating or qualifying production processes.
• Experience using production data to identify quality trends.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting automated production equipment (HMI, simple electrical/pneumatic/mechanical faults).
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to suggest improvements.
• Experience with MES to document defects and non-conforming material; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication; updating work instructions and training on the line.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot automated equipment and recurring line issues, and implement fixes with engineering and maintenance.
• Triage non-conforming products and drive resolution and preventative actions.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities for yield, performance, and cost.
• Update work instructions and train teammates on the standard process, rework, and equipment tasks.
• Perform process development and validation on new equipment alongside engineering.
• Define maintenance schedules and support activities.
• Drive area improvements involving layout, 5S, material flow, tooling, and operator safety.
