Job summary

Kruger Family Industries, the North America leader in heavy gauge thermoformed plastics, seeks a Shift Supervisor to supervise and coordinate production in our General Manufacturing area.

You will lead production staff, interpret specifications and blueprints, and coordinate with procurement, maintenance and quality control to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency. Emphasis on safety and training of staff in a growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers.
• Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
• Provide a safe work environment by communicating and enforcing compliance of all safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and delegates duties.
• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
• Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
• Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
• Consults with Operations relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
• Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
• Provide a safe work environment by communicating and enforcing compliance of all safety policies and procedures; Conducts and follows through on safety inspections; Attends and participates in safety functions.
• Conducts and follows through with accident investigations and accident-related reporting in a timely manner. Effectively manages return to work program.
• Ensures effective training of new and existing employees.
• Provides positive leadership by maintaining open communication with all employees.
• Confers with other areas of production to coordinate activities of individual departments.
