Job summary

Great Dane LLC seeks a Safety Supervisor to advance a strong safety culture across manufacturing operations. You will support development and implementation of plant safety and health programs, partner with plant leadership, and drive compliance with regulations while promoting employee engagement in safe practices.

You will identify hazards, lead investigations, and coordinate corrective actions to reduce risk. Strong communication and training skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Occupation Safety Management or related discipline preferred.
• 2–5+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations for general industry.
• Knowledge about environmental regulations and compliance.
• Ability to perform basic first aid and CPR.
• Knowledge of design and assembly aspects of safety decisions for dry freight vans.
• Effective communication and training facilitation skills.
• Proficient computer data entry and email capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report hazards; implement immediate corrective actions.
• Enforce company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain training, audits, and incident records.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; update policies.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and work areas.
• Develop and deliver safety training and new hire orientations.
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with local management to implement site safety strategies.
• Track the completion and effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Monitor safety metrics and drive continuous improvement.
