Job summary

Whole Foods Market, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to oversee a site safety program at our metro food manufacturing facility. The role emphasizes developing, promoting, and enforcing comprehensive safety initiatives in alignment with OSHA regulations and HACCP standards.

The position requires 2–4 years of manufacturing safety experience, a related degree, and strong training and communication skills to coach Team Members on hazard awareness and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in a safety or EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, OSHA, and environmental health and safety.
• Experience with safety training and employee engagement programs is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn custom applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Asset Protection and facility leadership to maintain a safe, compliant environment per OSHA and laws.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Lead implementation and improvement of safety programs, policies, and training materials.
• Investigate incidents, document root causes, and track corrective actions.
• Maintain training programs per IIPP and facility equipment.
