Job summary

Monti, Inc. in Sumter, SC is seeking a Safety Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs to maintain a safe, compliant workplace and reduce incidents.

You will identify hazards, perform risk assessments, lead investigations, and deliver employee training. The role requires coordinating with operations to ensure OSHA-compliant practices and continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering or related field.
• OHSA-30 certified.
• Experience with Lockout/Tagout.
• Experience with ergonomic lifting.
• Experience with repetitive motion fatigue mitigation.
• Experience with PIV Training.
• Experience with continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures that align with industry standards and government regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and root-cause analyses to identify potential risks and ensure corrective action.
• Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents. Compile reports, determine causes, and work with leadership to implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training for employees, contractors, and new hires to promote safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry standards.
• Actively seek and propose new methods or technologies to enhance workplace safety and efficiency.
