Job summary

Anduril Industries, Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking a Manufacturing Safety Engineer to integrate formal risk assessment into production equipment, lift fixtures, test stations, and work instructions. You will be the on-the-floor technical authority who keeps factories safe without slowing progress and partners with EHS, controls engineering, and production teams.

This role covers bring-up through ramp and sustained operations in a high-rate manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Safety Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing/machine safety, equipment or controls engineering, with demonstrated ownership of risk assessments.
• Hands-on experience performing formal risk assessments and applying the hierarchy of controls.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 general-industry requirements, including machine guarding and lockout/tagout.
• Experience developing JHA and translating findings into work instructions, controls, and training.
• Experience designing safety into production/test equipment with EHS collaboration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; eligible for U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead formal machine and task-based risk assessments on production equipment and processes.
• Review work instructions and training material for safety adequacy; write JHA and embed controls.
• Engineer safety into production equipment and support proof-load testing.
• Define functional-safety requirements for safety-related control systems.
• Apply hierarchy of controls to eliminate hazards during design and line setup.
• Collaborate with EHS to satisfy OSHA general-industry requirements on guarding and lockout/tagout.
• Support incident investigations and drive corrective engineering actions.
