Job summary

Siemens Buildings is seeking a Maintenance & Test Engineering Manager to lead and integrate maintenance, test engineering, and equipment support in our Buffalo Grove, IL manufacturing facility. You will ensure high equipment availability, reliable test processes, and continuous improvement of manufacturing systems.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will collaborate with Operations, Production Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering to reduce downtime and enhance reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in maintenance or test engineering in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership of technical teams and driving performance.
• Experience with predictive maintenance and root-cause analysis.
• English communication, on-site in Buffalo Grove, IL.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance and Test Engineering teams with clear priorities and accountability.
• Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Provide test engineering support for manufacturing operations (troubleshooting, fixtures, software/hardware).
• Monitor metrics like downtime, maintenance response, test yield, and root cause issues.
• Drive structured problem solving and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Production Engineering, Quality, and Product Engineering on improvements.
• Establish standard work, maintenance plans, and spare parts strategies.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for reliability, safety, and cost reduction.
• Support capital equipment planning and lifecycle management.
• Mentor and develop team members and foster safety culture.
