Precision Resource in Shelton, CT, is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the Quality department and drive advanced quality and reliability engineering for improved product quality and acceptance. The role ensures PPAP/ISIR submissions, NCR handling, and continuous improvement across processes.

Responsibilities include directing the Quality team, maintaining IATF 16949 certification, reviewing 8D reports, and supporting supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent technical training.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in metalworking.
• 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 documentation and processes.

Responsibilities

• Set and direct priorities for the Quality team and establish accountability.
• Review objectives and performance evaluations for timely delivery.
• Develop and monitor quality metrics and continual improvement processes.
• Lead customer quality issue resolution and APQP participation.
• Maintain IATF 16949 certification and ensure proper PPAP/ISIR submissions.

Our Connecticut division, located in Shelton, seeks a Quality Manager.

Summary

The Quality Manager has overall responsibility for managing the Quality department in order to establish advanced quality and reliability engineering to enhance product quality, reliability and acceptance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set, direct & support priorities of the Quality team (development of accountabilities for each team member)
• Review/re-set objectives in conjunction with on-time performance evaluations
• Develop, implement and improve departmental metrics
• Drive continual improvement process within the Quality department
• Develop a continuous learning process for all staff (proper measurement techniques, identifications fit/function – critical characteristics, standardization of acceptance criteria)
• Ensure customer and supplier PPAPor ISIR submissions, NCR’s (Nonconformance Reporting), Inspection, SPC, Gauge Program, Cost of Quality, internal audits, etc. are accurate and completed in a timely manner
• Lead/support problem resolution and responsiveness of all customer quality related issues
• Customer liaison
• Attend customer meetings and conferences
• Review all 8D reports and corrective actions implemented
• Actively participate in APQPand quote review meetings
• Ensure Division maintains IATF 16949 certification
• Improve and maintain accurate Quality procedures and manuals

Qualifications, Education, Experience

• BS in Engineering or highly technical training equal to a 4-year program or 5years minimumof manufacturing experience in the metal working industry
• 5years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with formal documentation systems and methods particularly ISO9001 and IATF 16949
• Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
