Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Quality Manager to implement and maintain quality management systems, leading a team of professionals to drive quality excellence across the organization. Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in quality, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of driving metric improvements using Pareto analyses and quality management systems in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools (receiving inspection, MRB, statistical analysis, risk management).
  • Experience leading 8D-based Root Cause and Corrective Actions.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to report results using PowerPoint and BI.
  • Experience developing FMEA’s and control plans.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop facility improvement plan and drive its execution with site leadership.
  • Lead a team of quality professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Develop and implement QMS best practices to ensure compliance with standards and customer expectations.
  • Establish and maintain QA processes for product development, manufacturing, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and service to identify quality issues and implement CAPAs.
  • Conduct audits of quality management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and workmanship.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze quality data and KPIs; report status in Site Leadership Reviews and Monthly Operation Reviews.
  • Champion a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding issues and product performance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quality Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality management systems, processes, and procedures to ensure that our products/services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. The Quality Manager will lead a team of quality professionals in efforts to drive Quality Excellence within area of responsibility while working closely with cross-functional partners and the Regional Quality Organization to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Position Summary

The Quality Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality management systems, processes, and procedures to ensure that our products/services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. The Quality Manager will lead a team of quality professionals in efforts to drive Quality Excellence within area of responsibility while working closely with cross-functional partners and the Regional Quality Organization to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop facility improvement plan. Drive execution of the plan in conjunction with the site leadership team.
  • Lead a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective execution of quality assurance activities.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality management system best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and customers’ expectations.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures for all aspects of product/service development, manufacturing, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and service, to identify quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of quality management systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and workmanship standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze quality data and metrics to track performance trends, identify root causes of quality issues, and develop strategies for improvement. Report out status of KPIs and corrective action plans in various meetings, including Site Leadership Reviews and Monthly Operation Reviews.
  • Champion a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization, fostering collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Assure consistent, professional, and effective communication with customers regarding issues and product performance.
Minimum Job Qualifications
  • BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in quality, or a related field, with at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of driving metric improvements by utilizing paretos and utilizing quality management systems in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools, including receiving inspection, MRB, statistical analysis, and risk management.
  • Direct and relative experience conducting Root Cause and Corrective Actions using 8D problem solving or similar techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends and patterns, and develop effective solutions. Ability to report results using PowerPoint and BI.
  • Direct and relative experience developing FMEA’s and control plans.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and people skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of metal cutting, waterjets, and CNC machines.
  • High degree of knowledge with brazing and welding.
  • Expertise in metrology and measurement equipment.
  • Working knowledge of MES systems and traceability.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools, including statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and risk management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives (i.e. Kaizen events)
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ASQ) and Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.

  • Ability to work around elevated temperatures.
Travel Time Required
  • Travel required, approximately 10-20%.
