Job summary

Designwerkes, Inc. seeks an experienced Quality Manager to lead QA/QC initiatives across AS9100 environments, driving development and continuous improvement of quality systems to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance in aerospace and defense programs.

The role oversees audits, inspections, CAPA, and supplier quality, partnering with sub-tier vendors to meet specifications and regulatory standards. Strong leadership and, preferably, CQE credentials are highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years quality management experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments; Aerospace and U.S. Defense work programs desirable.
  • Experience with MCOSMOS and Net-Inspect software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal and external quality audits to verify compliance with AS9100 requirements and company policies.
  • Oversee quality control processes including inspections, testing, and validation from raw materials to finished goods.
  • Manage CAPA, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to address quality issues promptly.
  • Review and approve FAIs and inspection plans; ensure documentation accuracy.

Designwerkes, Inc., An AS9100 manufacturer specializing in public transportation and expanding in Aerospace and U.S. Defense work, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Quality Manager. In this role you will lead our quality assurance and control initiatives through managing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead internal and external quality audits to verify compliance with regulatory AS9100 requirements and company policies.
  • Oversee quality control processes including inspections, testing, and validation to ensure product integrity from raw materials to finished goods.
  • Work closely with special process sub-tier suppliers to ensure quality standards are met according to specifications.
  • Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues promptly and effectively.
  • Review and approve First Article Inspections (FAIs) quality documentation, and inspection plans.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9145 and ISO9001.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting quality audits and implementing effective QA/QC procedures.
  • Relevant certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Lead Auditor credentials or equivalent are highly desirable.
