Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to establish and lead quality systems for our ground-up manufacturing of Sodium-Ion battery modules in Burlingame, CA. You will drive PFMEA, IQC, supplier quality, and collaborate with design and operations to ensure safe, reliable products ready for customer deployment.

The role requires 5+ years in quality engineering in hardware manufacturing, experience with PFMEA, CAPA, and field investigations, and the ability to scale a quality

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality engineering experience in battery, EV, or adjacent hardware manufacturing.
• Hands-on PFMEA with risk prioritization (RPN) and mitigation.
• Experience establishing quality systems in early-stage environments.
• Experience leading field failure investigations and cross-functional problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rapid assessments of current build processes, failure modes, and risk areas to identify gaps.
• Own and improve PFMEA processes with cross-functional review.
• Establish IQC framework and supplier qualification criteria.
• Collaborate with design/engineering to surface high-risk failure modes early.
• Define control, verification, and sampling plans to ensure part quality.
• Track quality metrics and drive CAPA processes.
• Drive field investigations and customer-facing quality responses.
