Job summary

NN Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements on the production floor in Kentwood, MI.

You will collaborate with product teams to standardize procedures and documentation, support capital equipment planning, and design optimized processes for current and new launches. Ideal candidates have a BS in Engineering, 2+ years of experience, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in technical documentation, cost estimation, and manufacturing software systems.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and CI mindset.
• Proficiency with technical documentation, cost estimation, and manufacturing software systems.
• Ability to read/interpret complex technical documents and communicate across the org.
• Experience with APQP, GD&T, and lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to develop standardized procedures and documentation for high quality, low-cost manufacturing.
• Provide technical support for capital equipment planning and implementation.
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes and tooling for current production and new launches.
• Lead APQP teams and CI initiatives using the APS and Project Launch Guide.
• Create and maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and cost standards.
• Accurately quote new parts and update existing customer quotes.
• Train operators on machine operations, SPC, document interpretation, and process improvement.
• Interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and EMS.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with product teams to develop standardized procedures and documentation that ensure consistent, high-quality, and low-cost manufacturing.
• Provide technical support for capital equipment planning and implementation.
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes and tooling for both current production and new product launches.
• Lead APQP teams and continuous improvement initiatives using the Project Launch Guide and Autocam Production System (APS).
• Create and maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and cost standards.
• Accurately quote new parts and update existing customer quotes.
• Train operators on machine operations, SPC, document interpretation, and process improvement.
• Interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).

What You Bring
