Position Summary

Parts Tool & Die is actively seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Programming & Job Processing who thrives on precision and consistency. This role is for someone who enjoys technical detail, works well across departments, and values process, structure, and clear expectations.

The Manufacturing Engineer supports CNC milling and turning by preparing production-ready programs, routers, setup documentation, tooling information, models, and job packages. You’ll be the person we count on to make sure assigned work is processed accurately, documentation is current and complete, and Production has the information needed to run the job correctly.

The successful candidate will be analytical, methodical, organized, and attentive to detail; will verify information rather than make assumptions; and will raise questions early when something is missing or unclear. Accuracy, revision control, and disciplined follow-through matter in this role. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Lead Manufacturing Engineers, machinists, Quality, and Production and will build capability in both CNC milling and turning over time.

Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming & Job Processing
  • Develop and maintain CNC milling and turning programs for assigned jobs within established manufacturing methods and approved requirements.
  • Create and modify CAM toolpaths, machining sequences, feeds, speeds, work offsets, and related program details.
  • Process repeat, revised, and appropriately assigned new jobs and incorporate approved program and documentation changes.
  • Review programs and job information for completeness and correct revision status before release for production use.
Manufacturing Documentation & Setup Preparation
  • Create and maintain routers, setup instructions, tooling lists, job folders, manufacturing models, and related shop-floor documentation.
  • Review job packages for current revisions, missing information, and consistency before release to Production.
  • Prepare routine tooling and workholding information using established shop methods and approved manufacturing strategies.
  • Keep assigned technical documentation organized, controlled, and clear enough to support consistent repeat execution.
Quality, Collaboration & Development
  • Maintain assigned programs and manufacturing documentation in alignment with AS9100 requirements and document-control practices.
  • Support First Article and inspection readiness by ensuring manufacturing documentation reflects current approved requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering, machinists, Quality, and Production and communicate missing information, discrepancies, or questions promptly.
  • Build proficiency in both CNC milling and turning and take on more complex assignments as capability develops.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, CNC programming ormachining process support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Working experience with CAM programming for CNC milling and/or turning using Mastercam.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional tolerances, and manufacturing models.
  • Basic working knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, toolholding, fixtures, workholding, CNC setup practices, and controlled manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, consistent follow-through, and comfort working within structured processes. Aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experience and familiarity with AS9100 are required.
