Job summary

BURKERT USA Corp. is seeking a Quality Engineer to manage the Quality Management System, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with ISO standards at our Huntersville, NC site. You will utilize DMAIC, 8D/5Why, and sampling to improve product quality and supplier performance.

The role requires a degree in engineering, 1–2 years in quality engineering, and proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office; travel about 10% is expected. Onsite work with no relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Major.
• 1–2 years in Quality Engineering or a technical discipline.
• Manufacturing environment experience.
• Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems standards is a plus.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
• Lean implementation experience in production, warehousing, and distribution is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written & verbal.
• Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Quality Management System development and implementation aligned with ISO standards.
• Identify statistical methods to improve manufacturing processes.
• Improve inspection process using sampling plans and confidence levels.
• Perform hypothesis tests, normality checks, and capability analyses.
• Apply DMAIC and 8D/5Why tools for CAPA and quality improvements.
• Analyze failure data and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Support supplier audits and timely supplier corrective actions.
• Prepare QA reports and metrics for management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• ** THIS IS AN ONSITE ROLE WITH NO RELOCATION AVAILABLE**
• Responsible for Quality Management System inclusive of process and procedure development/implementation that aligns with ISO standards
• Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Enhance quality inspection process utilizing statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence
• Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests
• Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling
• Root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA for quality improvement related concerns utilizing DMAIC methodology and 8D/5Why tools.
• Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
• Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
• Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions
• Assist suppliers' performance and conduct audits.
• Preparation of QA reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Major; Master's Degree a plus
• Basic knowledge of quality systems is required (statistics, reliability, sampling, and auditing).
• 1-2 years preferred in Quality Engineering or Technical Discipline
• Manufacturing environment experience
• Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems standards a plus
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
• Lean Implementation in a production, warehousing and distribution environment a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written & verbal
• Proficient with SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
