Job summary

Burkert USA Corp in Huntersville, NC is seeking a Quality Engineer for an on-site role. The position focuses on implementing QA processes aligned with ISO standards and performing statistical analyses to drive quality improvements.

You will lead CAPA activities using DMAIC and 8D/5Why, develop sampling plans, and analyze data to reduce defects. A Bachelor's in Engineering or technical field is required, with 1–2 years in quality engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical major.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• 1–2 years in Quality Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Quality Management System development/implementation aligned with ISO standards.
• Identify statistical methods to improve manufacturing processes.
• Enhance QA receiving inspection with sampling plans and confidence levels.
• Perform hypothesis tests, normal distribution analyses and process capability assessments.
• Develop sampling plans using attribute, variable, and sequential sampling.
• Root cause analysis and CAPA using DMAIC, 8D/5Why tools.
• Address failures with corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints.
• Continuously improve receiving inspection QA processes.
• Coordinate supplier audits and corrective actions; ensure timely resolutions.
• Prepare QA reports and metrics.
• This is an onsite role with no relocation available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• ** THIS IS AN ONSITE ROLE WITH NO RELOCATION AVAILABLE
• Responsible for Quality Management System inclusive of process and procedure development/implementation that aligns with ISO standards
• Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Enhance quality inspection process utilizing statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence
• Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests
• Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling
• Root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA for quality improvement related concerns utilizing DMAIC methodology and 8D/5Why tools.
• Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
• Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
• Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions
• Assist suppliers' performance and conduct audits.
• Preparation of QA reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Major; Master's Degree a plus
• Basic knowledge of quality systems is required (statistics, reliability, sampling, and auditing).
• 1-2 years preferred in Quality Engineering or Technical Discipline
• Manufacturing environment experience
• Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems standards a plus
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
• Lean Implementation in a production, warehousing and distribution environment a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written & verbal
• Proficient with SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task; Perform duties with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy
• Travel 10%
