Job summary

Visionworks of America, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing & Quality Assurance Engineer to plan, organize, and prioritize maintenance of lab equipment and processes across the network.

This role supports new technology deployment, staff training, and cost-reduction initiatives to ensure quality standards. The candidate will standardize equipment setups, develop databases for networking labs, and coordinate with vendors and contract labs to uphold product quality for Visionworks proprietary items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 4+ years of experience in coatings, finishing, surfacing, or maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience leading and training employees on technical equipment.
• Experience with computerized machine control equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Experience using manufacturing modeling and simulation software.
• Experience with optical manufacturing.
• Experience with surfacing technology or milling equipment in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and prioritize maintenance of assigned equipment and processes.
• Support implementation of shared services and databases related to equipment and processes.
• Test and introduce new technology and processes for the lab network.
• Train and evaluate staff to meet performance and quality standards.
• Support cost-reduction projects involving production machinery and maintenance.
• Coordinate standards with contract labs to enable quality control of VSP proprietary products.
