Job summary

O’Neal Manufacturing Services is seeking a qualified Quality Leader to oversee the QA program at our Indianapolis-area plant. You will drive safety, quality, and delivery initiatives, mentor staff, and ensure customer requirements are met with strong lean and six-sigma focus.

The role requires a solid manufacturing quality background, experience with ISO 9001, and effective communication with customers and internal teams to deliver continuous improvement and flawless launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ISO9001-based quality management system.
• 3+ years’ experience supervising/managing people.
• Experience with automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA).
• Familiarity with GD&T concepts and dimensional measurement techniques.
• Experience working with OEM customers.
• Experience with Lean Systems and/or 6-Sigma Green/Black Belt or similar structured problem-solving methodology.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA department activities to ensure resources are utilized and goals are met.
• Develop and deploy development plans for QA personnel to function at a high level.
• Staff and equip the QA function for all critical quality functions including product inspection, metrology, auditing, process control, and continual improvement.
• Communicate effectively with customers to address problems and mitigate impact.
• Lead plant PPAP activities and coordinate with other plant staff for product launches.
• Investigate root cause and implement permanent corrective actions (5-Why, 8-D).
• Ensure corrective actions are initiated and countermeasures deployed for quality issues.
• Oversee containment to mitigate impact across the supply chain.
• Conduct statistical capability studies and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate and implement measurement tools to aid in producing quality products.
• Administer Layered Process Audit (LPA) program to drive improvement and satisfaction.
• Write and implement work instructions to prevent defective products.
