Job summary

ICC International is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Purchasing Manager to lead the purchasing and materials function and support a growing manufacturing operation. This hands-on leadership role ensures materials are available while managing cost, quality, inventory, supplier performance, and compliance.

You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, analyze data in Excel, oversee ERP-based purchasing, FTZ compliance, and coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, purchasing or related field.
  • 5+ years in purchasing, procurement or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing, purchasing and inventory control.
  • Advanced Excel skills and data analysis experience.
  • Experience with FTZ, international purchasing, customs and import/export preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing activities for raw materials including copper, mica, steel, phenolic, bronze, tooling, shop supplies and outside services.
  • Source, evaluate, negotiate with, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supplier agreements.
  • Analyze purchasing and material data using Excel, pivot tables and regression analysis to identify cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Manage inventory using FIFO, min/max controls, store routing, and other inventory-management practices.
  • Oversee receiving, inspection, purchase orders, inventory control, and monthly inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory information within ICC’s ERP system.
  • Follow FTZ rules and prepare monthly raw material purchasing reports and recommendations.
  • Manage FTZ requirements, including compliance, documentation, import/export processes, customs regulations, broker coordination, duty savings, and inventory controls.
  • Monitor international freight, tariffs, and applicable trade regulations.
  • Develop and improve purchasing policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead and direct purchasing and materials personnel.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to ensure materials are available to support production schedules.

ICC International is a leading manufacturer of custom commutators and slip rings for demanding industrial applications. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing and materials function and help support the continued growth of our manufacturing operation.

This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for ensuring materials are available when needed while managing cost, quality, inventory, supplier performance, and compliance.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead purchasing activities for raw materials including copper, mica, steel, phenolic, bronze, tooling, shop supplies, product supplies, and outside services.
  • Source, evaluate, negotiate with, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supplier agreements.
  • Analyze purchasing and material data using Microsoft Excel, pivot tables, and regression analysis to identify cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Manage inventory using FIFO, min/max controls, store routing, and other inventory‑management practices.
  • Oversee receiving, inspection, purchase orders, inventory control, and monthly inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory information within ICC’s ERP system.
  • Follow Comex rules and regulations and prepare monthly raw material purchasing reports and recommendations.
  • Manage Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) requirements, including compliance, documentation, import/export processes, customs regulations, broker coordination, duty savings, and inventory controls.
  • Monitor international freight, tariffs, and applicable trade regulations.
  • Develop and improve purchasing policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead and direct purchasing and materials personnel.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to ensure materials are available to support production schedules.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Manufacturing, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing, purchasing and inventory control.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Experience with FTZ, international purchasing, customs, tariffs, and import/export processes strongly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership and people‑management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Hands‑on, proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with both internal and external customers.
