Job summary

Norsk Hydro in Rosemont, IL is seeking a Project Manager to lead capital and process-improvement projects across all phases from feasibility to closeout. You’ll ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery along the aluminium value chain.

You will coordinate with plant operations, engineering, procurement and external contractors, manage scopes, budgets, schedules and risks, and ensure HSE compliance throughout.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in technical discipline and 5 years of project experience.
• Experience in manufacturing or process operations; project/maintenance/engineering experience preferred.
• Fluency in English; willingness to travel 30–50% and work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Define project tasks, resource requirements, and staffing plans.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation (SOWs, specs, RFQs/RFPs, contracts, changes).
• Coordinate equipment selection, procurement, and vendor management.
• Track and report progress, risks, issues, and mitigations to leadership.
• Manage on-site execution, including contractor coordination, deliveries, and start-up.
• Ensure site readiness, equipment staging, delivery scheduling, and sequencing.
• Conduct close-out activities, punch lists, documentation handover, and lessons learned.
• Share knowledge and promote best practices across plants/sites.
• Maintain strict HSE compliance across all project phases.
• Ensure alignment with PM standards and regulatory requirements.
