Job summary

Lonza in Portsmouth, NH, is seeking a Manufacturing Project Specialist to lead readiness activities for production campaigns, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant campaigns and timely execution.

You will review documents, drive process improvements, and manage improvement projects from concept to completion, while clearly communicating progress and risks to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in biotechnology or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing.
• Effective planning, time management, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with SAP is an advantage.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing readiness activities for production campaigns.
• Review and approve manufacturing documents, including SOPs and batch records.
• Collaborate with teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage improvement projects from concept through completion.
• Support document creation and accuracy using analysis, dry runs, and mock setups.
• Represent Manufacturing in meetings and communicate progress, risks, and updates.
