Job summary

Lonza in Portsmouth, NH is seeking an Analytical Lead Scientist to drive Process Analytical Technologies for mammalian manufacturing. You will lead experimental programs, design PAT solutions, and collaborate across functions to advance next-gen manufacturing processes.

You will guide complex projects, mentor team members, and contribute to IP and publications while ensuring compliance and ongoing process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related field.
• Experience in biotech/biologics laboratory environment.
• Strong method development, experimental design, and data analysis.
• Experience leading technical projects in complex environments.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Mentor and develop scientific talent.
• Passion for innovation in manufacturing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex scientific projects and work packages from planning through execution.
• Design and implement innovative PAT solutions that improve process understanding and performance.
