Job Title: Manufacturing Project Engineer

Job Description

The Manufacturing Project Engineer will be responsible for interpreting 2D drawings while managing small order quantities from tier 1 suppliers. The role involves identifying opportunities through defense logistics agency and OEM web portals for solicitations, devising strategies for winning bids, and understanding client-specific interpretations. The candidate must be proficient in reading both 2D and 3D blueprints, with a focus on 2D designs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze 2D drawings to manage small order quantities.
• Identify opportunities via defense logistics agency and OEM web portals for solicitations.
• Devise strategies to win bids by identifying key selling points.
• Understand and interpret client-specific requirements and blueprint schematics.
• Manage projects with a focus on process engineering and bill of materials.
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D blueprints (70% 2D and 30% 3D).
• Work closely with tier 1 supplier drawing specifications, such as those from Boeing.
• Engage in customer and vendor management, particularly in aerospace standards.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in interpreting 2D and 3D blueprints.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with customer and vendor management in aerospace.
• Familiarity with cradle-to-grave project management and military standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in bidding and cost breakdowns for potential bids, including materials, processes, finishes, and labor.
• Familiarity with tier 1 supplier drawing specifications.

Work Environment

The position is based in a small, tight-knit, old-school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with another manufacturing engineer who has been with the company for decades and will provide oversight. There is a possibility to work from home once settled in. The role follows a 4/10 schedule, allowing Fridays off. The company offers bonus compensation potential, with merit-based bonuses approximately every six months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00/yr.

Benefits include 401k, health, dental & PTO, along with additional bonuses based on merit and company performance.
