Moog Military Aircraft LLC seeks a Manufacturing Production Supervisor for the 3rd shift in the Buffalo, NY area. You will lead a team of 30-40 machinists in a fast-paced machine shop, partnering with the Manufacturing Manager to drive value stream improvements and ensure on-time delivery.

You will plan workforce needs, hire and develop talent, monitor safety and quality, and manage time reporting and personnel policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline and 3-5 years in a manufacturing setting.
• At least 5 years of direct management experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Role Overview

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group develops and supports advanced flight control systems, avionics, and mission-critical technologies for military aircraft around the world. By partnering with leading aerospace and defense organizations, the group helps ensure aircraft performance, reliability, and mission readiness. As a Performance Leader, you will take daily operational ownership of one or more teams in our Machine Shop. You’ll lead a team of 30-40 machinists while driving performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role also plays a critical part in shaping team capability through workforce planning, hiring, training, development, and continuous improvement. Performance Leaders are essential to the success of our manufacturing operations. You’ll ensure our production teams are equipped to meet today’s customer commitments and prepared for tomorrow’s challenges. You’ll work closely with site support functions and the Value Stream organization to keep processes aligned with site strategy and operational objectives.

Responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor, you will:

• Manage a team of 30-40 employees in a machine shop setting.
• Work with the Manufacturing Manager to develop Value Stream Improvement Plans to achieve high impact results.
• Identify and measure short and long-term team goals, which comply with the organizational strategic plans.
• Use established standard work documents to assure utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment to provide optimum flow at the least possible cost to meet delivery commitments.
• Hire new employees, and evaluate existing personnel within the team, for the purposes of performance management and talent growth and development.
• Proactively address and resolve all employee relations matters in a timely manner in order to mitigate potential challenges.
• Manage employee counseling, discipline and performance feedback.
• Ensure accurate employee time reporting.
• Provide good organization/employee relations within areas by administering all personnel policies fairly and consistently.

Qualifications

• A Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline and 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
• At least 5 years of direct management experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment

Salary Range Transparency

Buffalo, NY $75,000.00–$110,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
