Job summary

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor for the 3rd shift in Buffalo, NY. You will manage a 30–40 person production team in a machine shop, drive Value Stream improvements, and ensure delivery commitments through effective utilization of personnel and equipment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of direct management experience in manufacturing, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership abilities.

• At least 5 years of direct management experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 30–40 employees in a machine shop setting.
• Develop Value Stream Improvement Plans with the Manufacturing Manager to achieve high impact results.
• Identify and measure short and long-term team goals aligned with strategic plans.
• Ensure efficient utilization of personnel and equipment to meet delivery commitments at minimum cost.
• Hire new employees and evaluate existing staff for performance and development.
• Address employee relations issues promptly to mitigate challenges.
• Oversee employee counseling, discipline and performance feedback.
• Ensure accurate time reporting and maintain strong employee relations.

Moog's Military Aircraft Group develops and supports advanced flight control systems, avionics, and mission-critical technologies for military aircraft around the world. By partnering with leading aerospace and defense organizations, the group helps ensure aircraft performance, reliability, and mission readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Production Supervisor, you will manage a team of 30-40 employees in a machine shop setting.
• Work with the Manufacturing Manager to develop Value Stream Improvement Plans to achieve high impact results.
• Identify and measure short and long-term team goals, which comply with the organizational strategic plans.
• Use established standard work documents to assure utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment to provide optimum flow at the least possible cost to meet delivery commitments.
• Hire new employees, and evaluate existing personnel within the team, for the purposes of performance management and talent growth and development.
• Proactively address and resolve all employee relations matters in a timely manner in order to mitigate potential challenges.
• Manage employee counseling, discipline and performance feedback.
• Ensure accurate employee time reporting. Provide good organization/employee relations within areas by administering all personnel policies fairly and consistently.

Qualifications

• A Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline and 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting.

Salary Range Transparency

Buffalo, NY $75,000.00-$110,000.00 Annually
