Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in Poway, CA, seeks an experienced planner to oversee production schedules, coordinate with materials, and ensure timely delivery of components for aircraft programs.

Under general supervision, you will develop work orders from MRP, address shortages, analyze data, and prepare reports while liaising with quality, engineering and inventory control to maintain flow and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/related field and 3+ years in planning, scheduling, budgeting and performance measurement.
• Understanding of manufacturing planning principles and ability to learn planning tools; knowledge of MRP systems, SAP ERP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Input or prepare short and long-range plans and schedules; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
• Develop manufacturing work orders per MRP planned orders; guide actions.
• Investigate issues; provide input for processes and technologies to meet cost and schedules.
• Process work orders and material transactions; interpret ECOs and dispositions.
• Develop standard and non-standard reports; identify variances and provide solutions.
• Represent the group in interdepartmental activities and run production status meetings.
• Alert management to shortages and deviations; propose solutions.
