Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Product Engineer for Manufacturing Operations to own a hardware product at the factory, gathering manufacturing, test, and yield concerns and signing off readiness before each build. You will work hands-on on the line and collaborate across teams to ensure robust production readiness.

The role requires up to 50% travel to partner factories in the US and abroad, debugging test failures, and presenting corrective action plans to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience taking hardware products from early builds to mass production.
• Ability to drive yield, quality, and schedule commitments with partners.
• Proficient in structured manufacturing and root-cause methods (DFM, FMEA, SPC, 8D).
• Ability to write product-specific test plans and judge coverage.
• Strong communication with partner engineers and leadership.
• Willing to travel up to 50% to partner sites.

Responsibilities

• Audit assembly and test processes with ODM/CM to set yield targets and approve transitions.
• Scale manufacturing from one line to multiple sites without regressions.
• Lead cross-functional root cause on field failures and drive corrective actions with ODM/CM.
• Lead engineering changes across manufacturers: BOM/PLM updates, cut-in planning, validation, and monitor field failures/RMA.
• Bring manufacturing requirements and validation data into development phase reviews.
