AMERICAN, based in Birmingham, Alabama, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to monitor Ductile Iron Pipe and Steel Pipe QA processes, establish procedures, collect data, and support quality systems. The role involves audits, training, and collaboration across departments to improve efficiency, safety, and performance.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited engineering degree, strong communication, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• ABET EAC accredited engineering bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent written and oral communication with all levels of the company.
• Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds and maintain professional relationships.
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the job.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Must be able to travel as required for the role.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Ability to read measuring instruments and perform basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Establish manufacturing procedures and collect data.
• Coordinate internal and external quality audits.
• Coordinate, perform, and report on quality management system activities.
• Provide training on quality management concepts and tools.
• Assist in MES/MIS projects and documentation management.
