Job summary

Polaris Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to establish and implement cost-efficient production methods, plan and coordinate activities to meet safety, quality, and cost standards, and ensure schedule compliance.

You will develop process documentation, conduct direct labor studies, define tooling, analyze methods, and pursue cost reductions while supporting budgeting and capital equipment projects. This role requires leadership and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency with PCs; understanding of SPC.
• Strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates process documentation and procedure instruction.
• Conducts direct labor studies and establishes standards on operations, setup and workstation layout.
• Defines tooling and fixturing; coordinates with tool designers to specify or procure tooling and fixtures.
• Analyzes and evaluates manufacturing methods and standards; provides cost and safety improvements.
• Identifies areas of unnecessary cost; researches cost reduction and workflow improvements.
• Assists in development and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.
• Reviews preliminary designs and recommends cost reductions and quality improvements.
• Develops capital equipment studies and makes recommendations for expenditures.
• Assists in budgeting and cost control; handles material and procurement costs.
• Reviews make vs. buy decisions and new product development.
• Process purchase requisitions and records; participate wherever training requires.
