The Manufacturing Process Integration Team plays a key role in developing or modifying transferred process points to improve manufacturability and performance. They work in partnership with Operations, Development, Design, and Product Engineering.
We are currently recruiting for two Manufacturing Process Integration Senior Engineers to join our team.
About the role - you will:
- Engage during the development of new reader and writer technologies, including Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR).
- Integrate those technologies into the factory and bring them to volume production readiness.
- Work and specialize in a specific discipline (litho, vacuum, plate, CMP, metrology, configuration/product support) within the new process launch space.
- Interact with personnel from Directors to Technicians and Operators.
- Communicate well to foster strong relationships and mutual understanding.
- Develop and deliver tactical direction on critical issues.
- Prepare and present documented results to various audiences.
- Demonstrate good judgment regarding the technical and business impacts of process change recommendations.
- Design experiments that generate meaningful and accurate results.
- Actively contribute to troubleshooting material, manufacturing process, and product design issues.
- Develop skills in Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Data Science.
- Support and develop automation with training using Microsoft Power Automate, Python, and OCAPs.

- Act as a spokesperson and subject matter expert, presenting project data and conclusions to management at all levels within Seagate.
Your experience includes:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex and technical subject matter.
- Capability to work in a clean room environment and be on-call for off-shift issues.
- Ability to apply design of experiments and statistical process control techniques like Minitab, JMP.
- Ability to travel to international manufacturing sites occasionally.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field with 5+ years of experience, or a master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with minimal or no experience, or equivalent experience and education.
Preferred additional experience:
- Experience in semiconductor/wafer fabrication and data storage product development.
- Experience with vacuum mill and etch processes, AI, and ML applications.
- Materials Science background.
Location:
Normandale campus in Edina and Bloomington, serving as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. The area offers amenities such as cafes, restaurants, shopping, fitness centers, meditation rooms, and community events.
The estimated base salary range is $81,536.00-$116,596.00, depending on location, skills, experience, and education.
