Job summary

Grimco, Inc. in Missouri seeks an Industrial Engineer I to support US Manufacturing Operations by establishing foundational IE systems, work measurement, capacity analysis, material flow, and continuous improvement methods.

The role focuses on the Owensville operation with on-site studies and data-driven recommendations to boost productivity and flow. The engineer will develop Standard Work, capacity and staffing models, analyze WIP and bottlenecks, lead Kaizen activities, and apply SPC/Six

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant manufacturing experience; internships welcomed.
• Foundational knowledge of work measurement, Time & Motion Studies, cycle time, takt time, throughput, bottlenecks, line balancing.
• Basic knowledge of statistics, SPC, and Six Sigma concepts.
• Lean Manufacturing concepts (5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping) fundamentals.
• Understanding of WIP, material handling, and capacity analysis.
• Strong Excel skills to organize, analyze, and communicate data.
• Willingness to spend significant time on the manufacturing floor and travel to Owensville, MO.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Time & Motion Studies, work sampling, cycle-time analysis, and labor-content studies.
• Develop Standard Work, process maps, capacity models, staffing models, and operating methods.
• Analyze WIP, material flow, batch sizes, travel distance, bottlenecks, and non-value-added activity.
• Support Value Stream Mapping and line balancing, material presentation, and point-of-use design.
• Lead Kaizen activities focused on low-cost, high-impact improvements.
• Establish baselines before recommending automation or CAPEX, and support validation.
• Apply basic statistical methods, SPC concepts, and Six Sigma problem-solving tools.
• Support visual management and short-interval performance metrics (Target vs Actual vs Gap).
• Collaborate with operators, supervisors, Plant Management, Maintenance, Quality, and others to implement improvements.
• Travel frequently to Owensville, MO; support other US manufacturing operations as needed.
• Prepare concise technical analyses and recommendations for the Director, US Manufacturing Operations.
