Job summary

Young Innovations, Inc. in Earth City, MO, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive continuous improvement of tooling, processes, and workflow efficiency in our manufacturing plant.

You will lead cross-functional teams on new product launches and capital/automation projects, ensuring quality and repeatability. Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years in process engineering, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/CATIA), and knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks and CATIA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes, tooling, and workflow efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve scrap, cycle time, and process variability issues.
• Collaborate with production, tooling, and maintenance teams to improve reliability and efficiency of current equipment.
• Develop and refine standard process procedures to ensure high quality and repeatability.
• Lead and manage process improvement projects and transfer to manufacturing activities.
• Provide technical input on tool/equipment design, tooling specifications, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Oversee tooling/equipment trials, process validations, and optimization.
• Develop project timelines, monitor progress, and address risks or delays.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on project status, risks, and deliverables.
• Manage vendor quotation process – request, review, and compare supplier offers for cost/quality.
• Support cost estimation, budgeting, and resource planning for projects.
