Job summary

VIRTEX is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Plano, TX facility to oversee manufacturing engineering activities, resolve manufacturing and quality issues, and drive process improvements across SMT/PCB assembly. The role requires coaching engineers and operators, developing work instructions, and coordinating NPI/ECO activities.

The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to quality initiatives and safety

Qualifications

• Understand all department related VIRTEX policies.

• Manage multiple tasks, schedules, and projects in a fast-paced environment where priorities change constantly.
• Strong PC skills and Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production and quality documents, drawings, and related industry materials.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community.
• Interpersonal skills, working with other engineers and managers.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing by resolving engineering, equipment, process, and component issues.
• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements for productivity and cost reduction.
• Generate documentation and training for process changes per VIRTEX Quality Policy.
• Train operators in generating machine programs and programming techniques.
• Lead engineers, technicians, and programmers in process engineering duties.
• Lead assemblers in manufacturing processes.
• Develop setup, operation, and maintenance work instructions for OEE.
• Assist QA with FMEA.
• Perform process engineering for NPI, ECO and print release.
• Participate in prototype and first article assembly; provide DFM feedback.
• Perform time studies on new and existing operations.
• Manage radiation safety officer responsibilities.
• Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives and Corrective Actions.
• Handle hiring, motivation, termination, and performance reviews of employees.
