Job summary

Chobani is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and other teams to identify opportunities, analyze process performance, troubleshoot losses, and implement improvements.

The internship will focus on throughput, yield, reliability, and process capability, with ownership/support of projects from problem definition through validation of results.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Completion of at least two years of engineering coursework preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable working with data; experience with Excel and data visualization/analysis tools preferred.
• Willingness to spend significant time in an active manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with Processing Operations to identify and solve manufacturing losses and constraints.
• Analyze process data to identify trends, variation, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
• Lead or support projects focused on yield/productivity, throughput, reliability, downtime reduction, water/utilities, and process optimization.
• Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor observing processes, collecting data, and working directly with operators and frontline leadership.
• Use structured problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis to troubleshoot recurring process issues.
• Develop process capability and performance metrics and create simple tools/dashboards to help teams monitor performance.
• Design and execute trials, document results, and determine whether changes delivered the expected improvement.
