Charter Casting in Woodstock, IL, is recruiting a Process Engineer (Manufacturing Engineer) onsite. You will lead technical initiatives to improve safety, quality, yield, and throughput, partnering with teams to implement new products, materials, and equipment.

Expect collaboration on budgeting, startup of capital equipment, and on-floor problem solving. The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 1+ year manufacturing experience, with strong lean and SPC knowledge, plus CAD and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 1+ years’ manufacturing experience.
• Strong knowledge of lean methods (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma).
• Experience with SPC, PFMEA, process control plans and routings.
• Able to read process flows and CAD drawings.
• Effective written and oral communication; analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and justify investment in new equipment.
• Support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Provide floor-level technical support, troubleshoot, and lead teams.
• Coordinate with Product Engineering on new processes and equipment.
• Prepare appropriations requests and manage capital projects.
• Drive variation reductions using Process Control methods.
• Document SOPs for new or modified processes.
• Track key operational metrics; ensure compliance with EHSQA systems.
