Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking a manufacturing process professional to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes in Buffalo Grove, IL. You will work with management, engineering, and teams to optimize production times, staffing, and costs while applying statistical methods to identify needs and drive solutions.

The role involves leading DFMEA sessions, applying Lean principles, and training others, with occasional travel to customer and plant locations.

Qualifications

Leans manufacturing principles and FMEA/PFMEA.
Experience with AutoCAD, Pro/E or SolidWorks.
Strong technical problem-solving abilities and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements focused on quality, efficiency, and cost.
Evaluate production times, staffing requirements, and manufacturing costs to support management decisions.
Develop and coordinate project plans, manage project activities, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Lead DFMEA sessions to identify and mitigate potential design risks.
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, FMEA, and continuous improvement practices to improve manufacturing processes.
Provide technical support and training while collaborating with management, engineering, and other teams.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, improve resource utilization, and support overall business performance.
Travel up to 10% to customer and manufacturing locations as needed.
