Job summary

OPW, a Dover company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, optimize, and implement manufacturing processes for high-quality outputs. You will lead Lean initiatives, improve facility layouts, and support production with technical expertise in a machining environment. Strong CAD/CAM skills and ERP familiarity are required.

The role reports to Industrial Engineering and focuses on cost-effective, scalable production improvements with cross-functional teamwork across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with costing, leading teams, Lean Six Sigma, facility layout, Kanban, capital justification, new product/process development.
• Experience in a machining environment is highly desired.
• AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor, MS Office Suite, ERP familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Support production and provide technical expertise to solve quality, delivery, and productivity issues for value streams.
• Design work holding and tooling solutions for new or existing manufacturing components.
• Lead continuous improvement/lean projects such as SMED, standard work kaizens, and value stream mapping.
• Design, plan, and coordinate facility layout improvements.
• Lead production teams using heuristic problem solving techniques such as FAST to resolve production issues.
• Drive root cause analysis using formal tools like A3, 8D, Fishbone, and 5Why.
• Identify new technology to improve manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate and implement engineering change orders in manufacturing.
